This is a weekly series where I show you how much I save on my grocery and household needs, including as many natural and organic items as possible.
This was a weird week, resulting in two separate trips to Publix. The first time I went for some baking supplies for Valentine’s Day cupcakes and a couple of sale items and essentials. The second trip was for a few more sale items, including some great sale prices on organic produce.
Publix had their great in-ad coupon available again, for $10 off a $50 gas gift card wyb(when you buy) $25 or more in groceries. Both times I was buying enough to qualify for the gas card deal, so I bought one with each purchase. I spent only $40 on each gift card for a total savings of $20 on gas. The costs and savings for the gift cards are not included in the totals below since that is gas money rather than grocery money.
Here’s what I bought this week at Publix in my first trip:

- 2 Almond Breeze almond milk half-gallons
- 2 Tam-x-ico whole wheat tortillas
- 3.27 lbs bananas
- 1 YoBaby organic yogurt 4-pack
- 1 Publix shortening (for cupcake frosting…it makes frosting less appetizing doesn’t it?)
- 1 Publix confectioners sugar 2 lbs (also for cupcake frosting)
- 4 Wet Ones antibacterial wipes
- 2 Duncan Hines cake mixes
- 1 Publix cling wrap
- 1 dozen Publix eggs
